Get Recognition

Counties are the governments of the future. They are innovative and progressive, creating a variety of programs to meet the needs of their citizens. To recognize the creativity and imagination of counties, NACo presents a number of awards each year to county officials, their employees and the counties themselves. NACo also recognizes members of Congress who champion county issues by awarding the Legislators of the Year.

This award program is designed to encourage counties to submit successful programs that have used arts and cultural activities to address not only the quality of life, but also social problems in their communities.

Recognizes outstanding local official who supports the arts.

Dale Sowards Award

Recognizes a county official that makes a significant contribution to the maintenance and governance of public lands at the local, state and national level
