St. Croix County, Wis. (83,000), a beautiful, rapidly growing county in the Twin Cities metropolitan area with all the advantages of a country environment and the cultural and economic opportunities of a vibrant region is now accepting applications for its Finance Director position. This position reports to the County Administrator and serves as the County’s Chief Financial Officer. The County has over 600 regular employees, a $70 million operating budget, and an Aa2 bond rating with only $7.6 million in outstanding debt. The Finance Director is responsible for financial forecasting, investments, budget development and monitoring, central financial accounting and reporting, administration of the County’s debt program and administering a county wide financial system. This position is a key member of the management team and is responsible for analyzing all aspects of county finances and providing advice, recommendations, and options to the County Administrator and County Board. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, public administration, or a related field and a minimum of five years recent experience in accounting at a responsible management level.
