The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners in Durango, Colo. is seeking a County Manager.
The ideal candidate will be a strong, visionary leader with solid management, organizational and financial skills. The County Manager will provide leadership, focus and direction to the BoCC, the Leadership Team, and community as a whole. Critical success factors for the new County Manager will include strategic planning, economic development, financial oversight, regionalism, succession planning, collaboration and consensus-building skills, innovative problem solving, long and short-term planning, and strong, enthusiastic leadership. The new County Manager will have a minimum of a B.A. degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Public or Business Administration or closely related field, Master’s degree strongly preferred; and 8-10 yrs of increasingly responsible public sector experience.
