Powhatan, Va. is currently seeking quality candidates for the position of County Administrator. Powhatan County, centrally located just west of the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, encompasses 260 square miles of beautiful rural countryside and is home to an outstanding school system. Powhatan County has a population of 28,046 (2010 Census), which is a 25% increase from the 2000 Census. This rapidly growing County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors, elected for four year terms, to which the County Administrator reports. The County Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the county, its 135+ full/part-time employees and a $68.4 million FY12 budget. The Board is seeking a visionary leader, possessing ethics and integrity; who has solid management, organization, and financial experience. A successful candidate will have considerable skills in leadership, staff & public relations, budgeting, capital improvement planning, economic development, and will be able to articulate open, positive and effective communication at all levels.
