America's counties face an awesome task. New responsibilities from federal and state governments, demands for additional services from citizens, and limited tax resources make it tough to balance the budget each year. Membership in the National Association of Counties (NACo) provides counties with some relief because "Counties Save with NACo."
By being a member of NACo, a county can save tax dollars and staff time through the cooperative purchasing program, research information, grant opportunities, technical assistance, prescription discount program and funding from legislation.
Additionally, counties benefit because NACo:
- brings county officials together for networking
- helps counties share information
- advocates county issues
- represents counties before national leaders
- promotes county government
NACo's membership includes counties from across the United States and represents 3/4 of all counties and over 85% of the nation's population. Membership is an investment in your county's future because the association works to ensure that counties have the resources, skills and support needed to successfully lead their communities into the future.
